Debate Challenge Affirmative Team Recording ( That Mathematics Should Be Include in BD Animation Programme)

Goood evening to Dr Tan and my fellow friends. Today,I would like to debate about the topic that mathematics subject should be include in Bachelor of Design Animation Programme. My team extremely believe that mathematics should be include in Bachelor of Design Animation Programme. Firstly before I start the debate,I would like to introduce to you my comrades. Myself as the first speaker will talk about the definition about animation and mathematics. The second speaker,Faez Azwann will talk about the importance of mathematics in study. The third speaker,Sharkhan Sarapudin will talk about the importance of mathematics in animation when we go into the industry. Lastly,the last speaker will conclude about the affirmative opinion based on the debate. Firstly,I would like to tell about the definition of mathematics. There is no specific definition about mathematics but Aristotle said that mathematics is the learning about quantity and the other source said that mathematics is about quantity,measurement,properties,sets,symbol and number. Next,I would like to explain about the definition of animation. Animation is about the movement based on 3D and 2D and also include time. Lastly,before I left this debate to the negative side,I would like to stress that mathematics should be include in Bachelor of Design Animation programme. This is because in animation,there are priciples that strongly related to mathematics such as timing and slow in and slow out. If we cannot masted and attach this element in animation,the animation will look awkward and weird.If that happen,our product will not achieve the good quality and our name in the industry will cannot be sold.

Critique Challenge Level 1

For the Critique Challenge assignment in Design Aesthetic course,i have to make an aesthetic evaluation upon animation video. The choosen animation is 'Hikayat Sang Kancil Dengan Monyet'.. The criterion has been set based on EMOTIVISM.. The criteria are i.e :

1.  Audiens should be amazed with the scenery of the animation for at least 5 minutes watching the     animation.

2.  Audiens should be touched with the friendship between the character instantly after watching the animation.

3.  Audiens should be annoyed with the manner of the monkey instantly when he disturb the tortoise and the mousedeer.

4.  Audiens should laugh and feel extremely funny until the end of the animation when reminds of the poor monkey.


   I have my own opinion when I say the audiens should amazed with the scenery of the animation. I dare to say that because although it just an animation,the animators and the developer of the animation have did a great job when they are making the background or the scenery of the animation. The scenery seem very beautiful,calm and looks very realistic. The sound of the jungle make the animation complete. I think everybody loves the calm condition and this animation will give us the feeling until the end of the story.

   After that,i say that the audiens should be touched with the friendship in the animation. We are human and we cannot escape from having friend,having relationship with each other and have strong bond with each other. In this animation,the creator of the animation have apply the human attitude and human feeling inside the non-human character. This can make us feel very attract to see it. We can see both mousedeer and tortoise are helping each other in whatever they do as a good friend.

   Third,the audiens should be annoyed with the manner of the monkey after watch the story. As we know that monkey is an active animal and sometimes it will disturb other animal. We can see the monkey have disturb the owl that is sleeping on the tree.  And the monkey also lying to the monkey and the tortoise that he  have'nt eat for 4 days. That is such a bad behaviour when we lie to other person.

   Lastly,audiens should laugh and feel funny when reminds of the monkey. That's because the foolishness of the monkey ; he even can't recognise the chillies and he eat it a lot.. And the consequence is he feel extremely hot and run away. Although we feel very pity of the monkey,we can still laugh when we recall the moment.

   Next,i have to make a judgement of my comrade's aesthetic evaluation. I have choosen to judge Nazrizam's criteria ( nazrizam1991.blogspot.com ) . He says that "Audience should be able to finish watching the animation from the beginning to the end voluntarily as compared to Hikayat Sang Kancil dan Monyet." I extremely agree with his opinion because of course we have to watch the animation from start to end in order to know the plot and what the story about. This because "Hikayat Sang Kancil dan Buaya" is more exciting to watch because Kancil must face the deadly predator,Buaya to cross the river. Kancil may die at that time but he use his intelligence to fool Buaya.

Last but not least,i also agree with his opinion which "Audience should be able to feel nostalgic to the extent that they remeber their old story as compared to Hikayat Sang Kancil dan Buaya" . this is because when we are in the kindergarten or in the primary school,,we always hear about the folk story and we still remember it until now. It is like a sweet memory to me.
Lastly,i want to judge my other comrade http://ewananimasi.blogspot.com/ . In his blog,he says that
"Audience would feel like to see this animation with great interest from beginning to end and feel like to see again and again." I dont feel like I agree with his opinion because I think that if we keep watch the same animation again and again,we might feel bored and we have know the next plot. This can make the suspense element will not emerge and we does'nt feel excited anymore.

Second Reading For Blogging Task

   For the second task subjects Aesthetic Design, I have read and analyze a popular work of a famous writer Donald A Norman. He has authored a book titled Why We Love (Or Hate) Everyday Things. I am required to analyze the three chapters of this book. In the prologue of this book, he really appreciate his teapot it because it has artistic valueand its own characteristics in terms of beauty, hidden meanings and their relation to the writers.In creating a design, emotional factors are the most powerful factor. In the invention,certain aspects such as visceral, behavioral and reflective is the priority because it will produce the aesthetic value when you see it. Every thing we like is not dependent onprice and quality, but it depends on our memories of the goods. Elements mentioned above are important elements that if any one is missing, it will lost its shine because thiselement is closely related to each other. Emotional role in shaping our thoughts, our actions steer us and guide us to the good.The author considers that the person in the days now still let logic to guide their lives than emotional. Apart from the emotional, aesthetic also serves to change lives for the better.Overall, cognitive psychology and emotions can help people to make better decisions.

   In chapter 1, the author states that researchers have focused on negative emotions such as fear, anxiety, stress and anger. Positive emotions are emotions that help us in our daily lives and help us assess the situation. human beings are able to develop their own thinking so that they become more creative and more imaginative. Through aesthetics, people will be more creative because it makes people think creatively and critically in dealing with problems and questions. Positive thinking can repel a person from feeling depressed and anxious. While the positive-minded peoplewill be efficient in solution. Grace and power of mind to think allows people to act and create new thing through thinking, man is able to scan the past, to communicate and make decisions.

   Level of human thought is able to grow and evolve so that people can think and learn about something that extreme.Behavior is the process by which people are able to do things in the spontaneous state whether they mind or not. Visceral level is the easiest level in the brain and it is the stage where it is sensitive to certain conditions. Human behavior is also said to be associated with experience. Human brain is always ready for new things such as language, communication and so on.In addition, learning sessions have also been set up automatically so that we are constantly learning new things. Authors also stated that the level of reflective behavior and is closely linked with the experience, training and education, and designers need to explore in greater depth to get the idea. 3 processing elements are closely related to science and these elements interact with each other. The lowest level is the most visceral, while high, is reflective. This happens because of human activity in the brain. All this will affect our behavior, be it positive or negative. Focus is a situation where people are able to give full attention to many things.Positive thoughts or circumstances in the individual able to make them broad-minded.In design, it all serves to make the work more neatly, beautiful and creative. When designers create something new, designers should put themselves in a comfortable condition.

   In chapter 2, the authors have indicated that the emotion is the key in the design because of the emotion, excellent design and good can be produced. Visceral level is the level where the initial effects of the product, appearance and taste. While the behavioral level is about the use, experience and products. But the experience itself has certain components such as functionality, performance and usability.Finally, reflective level is where emotional and cognitive plays their roles. If three levels were combined in the production of a product, the product will be a good work. However, there are differences among these levels.

   The wise designer should consider how best to sell their products because no one product could result in customer satisfaction. This occurs because of differences in human behavior itself. In a visceral level, we can see differences in human behavior that is what they like and things they do not like. This difference in attitude and personality have made every human being is unique. In addition, the failure of a product to satisfy thecustomer associated with the cultural and physical factors. therefore, designers must be sensitive to these differences.In addition, the individual preferences of an object can be measured by past experience,memories and goals. Sentimental value is one component of why people like an object.In the world of aesthetics, something that is cheap, original and quality is not a problem as long as the object is a symbol of something meaningful and valuable.In another issue, the author mentioned that photography is a medium powerful enough to evoke emotion through pictures as we can know the story behind it. It will be a sign of memory and memories of an event that never happened in our lives.

   Memories are important in human life because it can reflect our life experiences,beautiful moments that happen and it is surely a strong emotional impact. The attitude of"feeling for self" has become fundamental in human nature and it is also closely linked with the design. In the field of design, products must take into account the opinions of others so that the products are created to achieve certain standards.Produced products should also have its own personality. personality of the product will look different in many ways depending on the audience who evaluate the product. The three stages of design have their own role to play when it is associated with the personality of the product. However, the designer, the elements of personality should also be incorporated into designs so that it is acceptable to society. Finally, the product should be attractive,easy to understand, effective and should be priced accordingly. It also should be accompanied by the brand because the brand has an emotional element to attract the attention of the audience.

   In chapter 3, the author has stated that in determining the product, aspects of packaging is one factor. In view of the packaging, too emotional to be applied so that the audience liked the product and then the product is a valuable item. Besides the aspects of production, the designer must take into account the visceral, behavioral and reflective.Visceral design is a visual design that emphasizes the process of evaluating them. Of course designers want to create their designs so beautiful, and preferably may be accepted by society. Produced designs that conform to the principles will be the visceral quality and beautiful product and it will be the ideal society. This is because the designers have included a unique element in his designs. Visceral design also known as the initial reaction, then it should be perfect and beautiful that the audience will be interested to see it. The second stage in the design is behavioral. Behavioral design is about usability. This design has a component of certain components such as functional, physical, and usability. In this design, the function plays an important function to the product. because people will wonder if this product can be used and whether it has an interest.

   There are two types of product development and innovation improvements. Innovation is one thing which is not there something called a designer but want to make it in this world.Therefore designers should consider whether their innovations beneficial or not beneficial to society. Improvement is the one act by the company offering or designersthemselves when they want to improve the quality of their products, increase the existing features and adding new features so that the product is useful and appropriate for use by the community.In addition, understanding is one other element to the behavioral design. Without understanding, designers will make mistakes in the planning, design and promote their products. Therefore, the characteristics of a good designer is someone who always worry about their products. The appearance of their product is the determinant of whether people would like to design them or people will criticize it.Reflective design is the last stage in the design. This design involves the message,meaning and culture behind the product. A product must have the strength of the message so that the audience will love the product. In a reflective design, attractiveness is an important part because of the attraction, the community will judge the product.Reflective also come from observation,knowledge of beauty, and from experience.

   In conclusion, when I read this book, I now understand that the emotional factor is something that is important in life. Positive emotions in us will help us to act correctly,rational thinking, doing what is right and can refrain from bad deeds. And now I also know in the production of quality design, good in every aspects, and perfect in the eyes of society, I should emphasize three stages in the production. Levels are visceral,behavioral and reflective. If all that I follow and this is combined with a positive emotional, I will be the designer that can produce an excellent and beneficial things to society.

Design Aesthetic ( Assignment 1 )

    

   J.C Friedrich Von Schiller write his precious book called Letters Upon the Aesthetic Education Of Man (1794) and the purpose he write the well knowns book because he wants to make some research towards the beauty and value of aesthetic. He feels so excited and very much want to do some reasearch and valuation upon the value of beauty,phylosophy and arts.

   He will take into account the values ​​of a noble humanity committed during the study of the beauty that exists in this world.Schiller also noted that the study of beauty and art requires a high commitment to meet this principle because beauty is a beautiful thing in terms of visual and sentimental.He also hopes that his research was not misinterpreted as a matter of and evaluation of the bad.Schiller has criticized those in his time as a kind of folk very difficult to accept things and new ideas as limited by their own ignorance that they are willing to criticism and willing to subject to their own weaknesses.Before the advent of philosophy Schiller, whose name appeared Kentians philosophy.Schiller has stated that freedom of thought was right respectively, and they should not be restricted by one thought only because reason given should be used as soon as possible.The study of abstract shape will be more mature the mind of a person and will open the eyes with widely in order to assess the beauty of real sense of the word.

   In those days, worldly and materialistic values​​, while more highly regarded than finding and exploring the world the true meaning of beauty. But this has been influenced by political factors facing people's minds at the time. People in those days seemed attention to the art and Schiller wanted to determine the cause of the matter occur. Art, beauty and aesthetics is a different matter because it is a needs and freedom of every man to think in their favor own. Schiller said that beauty is like a woman because of the nature is beautiful women themselves. Constraints of social structure, politics and the situation at that time resulted in the geniuses and philosophers had to forego the desire to fight art had long been a component in their lives. In addition, it will be regarded as a betrayal of the matter is not shared with the public because it is the public interest must be known. Social principles and morals are things that play an very important in the human world as a social principle, human able to think about the variety and for the good of themselves. Although the philosophy of beauty and aesthetics is limited by temporal factors, it will be a wonderful thing if the thoughts and ideas Schiller and the prince are the same. No doubt something Schiller was so impressed by the beautiful and independent than most people in his era. Schiller stated that art and beauty is required at the time and it is a claim circulation time, the tastes of the time, because the beauty of freedom will arise. But Schiller should think about politics when it comes to reviewing legislation about aesthetic matters.

   People tend to be more flexible and easily influenced by nature and hence man is able to think of solutions and increase physical needs of the moral law. human rights to choose, but morally, people can not sit and just be satisfied with the current situation. human dignity can be seen in terms of beauty and moral influence motivation and strong determination. In addition people can also generate their own ideas based on past experience and is centered reason, the conditions and goals. Human nature is also said to conflict if the law established not related to the natural situation. Nature also has the power to prevent any element of force. elements are closely related to human with moral, physical and human behavior must hold fast to the law. In addition, the different elements of society should be the physical and moral society consolidated because the two elements are important elements in society. In addition, if the physical and moral statements, then the balance in society will increase.

   Moral authority and moral law can be classified as the main in the establishment of a country or society, because it can ensure durability and sovereignty. However, due to the requirements people's freedom is the cause of the physical element can not be together with a moral element. But this element can be consolidated if it is divided equally. Competent man is a man who can make a difference in the system community and country. In a difference, he should consider the ideas of others and at the same time he must hold fast to own position. When he could control how the men is recognized as a great man for having ideas. If viewed from the perspective of morality, the existence of the law will be favored if it exists without conditions. however, the existence of the law should according to national unity and human nature. Humans have the option to determine
the pattern of their lives whether to choose the right path or road devastating. Consolidation of different ideas, leading to a separate organization finally united by one idea that comprehensive. In letter 5, this letter tells me about the human which has been realized from the empty life and rose in revolt. Despite the emergence ofdiscontent, people should respect their community and country. and the blindnesscommunity to assess the changes that are properly resulted in the destruction of society. Schiller has also stated that the best way out is to rebel.


In conclusion, after reading and the content of this masterpiece Schiller, I was finally able to conclude that beauty is a very delicate matter and has all the beautiful things in it. Manybeautiful things that exist in our daily lives and our only who are unable to unlock the intended meaning. However, the true meaning of aesthetics for me not only related to beauty, but it is also related to the self, the environment, society and nation. The need to live in society, understanding, tolerance, limiting the key to peace and freedom. And thus arose the beauty.
